Mike Mnich, President and Founder of CVMedia, got his start at USMaintenance, a local Michigan janitorial contractor. While attending Wayne State University, he literally started out as a janitor cleaning buildings at night and 13 years later had worked his way up to President and CEO. Mike had a hand in building USMaintenance to become one of the largest janitorial contractors in the Midwest. In 1993, Mike created Corporate Video Services to develop in-house training videos for USMaintenance, which had grown to over 1500 employees. In 1995, USMaintenance was sold to ISS, the world’s largest janitorial contractor based out of Denmark, and Mike spun off the video production side of the business and formed CVMedia – The ‘C’ stands for ‘Corporate’ and the ‘V’ for ‘Video.’’ His experience working with corporate clients inspired Mike to begin producing videos directly for corporate America, when most video production houses worked strictly for ad agencies. Corporate challenges back then remain the same today: “Mike, we need our video done by Friday and we have half the budget we had last year.” Starting out with one client who only needed video every now and then, Mike – with his talented staff – has grown the business to service over 245 clients in 23 states and 17 countries.
